you wore a gentle mien
exemplary to manhood
a committed friend
true astute politician
an anchor for the family

your marks on the sand of time will remain indelible
some called you chairman
others referred to you as chief
we children called you daddy
Toluwani adopted mummy's name for you, calling you baba
he has kept on calling your name since you left......

oh yes! home is better
rest on in Jehovah's arms
you will always live on in our hearts
we draw on the Father's grace to upholding your legacies
we see your death as a seed
the world will witness the fruiting

I will miss your being there
but watch on gladly as we keep the flag flying
see you at the resurrection morning
